Utility Inspector

Our Energy Utilities division is growing, and we have openings for full-time Distribution Utility Inspectors.

What You Will Do:

The Energy Utilities Division is currently accepting applications for the role of Distribution Utility Inspector. This opportunity is available to both entry-level and experienced individuals. Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in inspection, utility locating, design, or surveying. Comprehensive paid training is provided as part of the position.

Responsibilities and expectations will include:

• Complete required training programs, including operator qualifications and OSHA.
• Proactively enforce safety, compliance and quality standards across all project sites.
• Work independently while collaborating with a broader team.
• Utilize a company-issued iPad to complete detailed daily reports, including inspection documentation, schedule updates, timecards, and expense reports.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, track materials, and verify as-built accuracy.
• Overnight travel may be required for up to 25% of the time.

What You Will Bring:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation with flexibility to travel 50+ miles from home and relocate midday as needed.
• Ability to traverse uneven terrain, work in and around excavations, and perform duties outdoor in all weather conditions

Preferred:

• AWS CWI or CPWI+V Certifications
• API 1169 Certification
• Knowledge of 49 CFR 192 &195
• Experience with underground utility installation, locating, surveying, mapping and/or design.
• Experience with operator qualifications
• Experience with polyethylene joining methods.
