Job Description

GCP DevOps Engineer, HSBC Technology & Services (USA) Inc., Buffalo, NY:

 

Build and manage the HSBC Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundation to enable application deployments. Engineer solutions on GCP foundation using Infrastructure as Code methods (e.g. Terraform). Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers). Manage software-defined networking in GCP. Consume centrally agreed base HSBC Hardened OS (Linux and Windows). Ensure compliance with centrally defined Security standards. Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency). Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities. Engineering activities to implement patches provided centrally. Support non-functional testing. Update support and operational documentation as required. Fault find and support Applications teams. Ensure good Change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards. Provide impact assessments where requested for changes proposed on HSBC GCP core platform.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, Pay range: $138,653 to $148,653 per year.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.


Must have 2 years of experience in Google Cloud to build and manage the services enabling application deployments in GCP.


Must have 1 year of experience in:

 

  • Terraform to engineer infrastructure deployment solutions on the GCP foundation platform and develop automation scripts.
  • Server Administration (either Linux or Windows) to manage monitoring, configuration, security, patch management, and user access control.
  • At least one programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, or Scala) to build and support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing activities.
