Description + Administer the company's fiber, wired, and wireless networks; virtual and physical data centers; SAN environments; cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Nutanix, Google Cloud); and all backup/recovery systems. + Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot network and cloud architecture while ensuring compliance with security standards and organizational policies. + Monitor network performance, identify issues, troubleshoot outages, and implement corrective actions to maximize efficiency. + Install, configure, and maintain backup systems, virtualization platforms, and both physical and virtual servers - including operating system patching. + Monitor hybrid cloud environments for performance and integration; recommend and implement enhancements. + Maintain database security, user access, workflows, and respond to performance faults or security events. + Configure, maintain, and back up clustered data center systems while planning for storage growth and future system integrations. + Install and configure network hardware (routers, switches, hubs, gateways) and ensure compliance with security and firmware update requirements. + Establish IP addressing and appropriate security configurations for switches and firewalls supporting confidential or sensitive data. + Coordinate with Network Security and Network Operations teams to ensure secure and efficient implementation of fiber equipment, core switches, and VoIP networking. + Administer all fiber switches supporting servers and storage, including zoning configurations and performance monitoring. + Conduct storage capacity planning for production and test environments. + Review and optimize production databases, stored procedures, and data center performance. + Serve as SQL/DB2 system administrator, monitoring memory, performance, replication, backup integrity, and system usability. + Evaluate system functions to determine needs for hardware or configuration changes. + Monitor equipment inventory, recommend purchases, and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines. + Prepare technical bid specifications for software, hardware, and maintenance contracts; evaluate and recommend vendor proposals. + Coordinate with vendors and contractors on fiber, wired, and wireless installations, relocations, and repairs; verify compliance with networking standards. + Conduct research on emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to network and data center operations. + Develop and maintain network addressing schemes and complete documentation including diagrams, standards, and procedures. + Operate a company vehicle as needed for job-related tasks. Requirements + Knowledge of fiber engineering, physical installation, equipment, and maintenance standards. + Knowledge of fiber optical ring technologies and technical/governmental bid requirements. + Strong understanding of network system design, protocols, logic, and system analysis. + Proficiency in Linux, AIX, UNIX, Windows Server, Active Directory, IP addressing, and network management practices. + Skilled in the installation and configuration of routers, switches, and associated network hardware. + Ability to interpret engineering and mathematical principles in system design. + Ability to troubleshoot complex network and systems issues. + Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive system data. + Ability to communicate effectively with internal users, technical teams, and external vendors. + Ability to design fiber, wired, and wireless networks and maintain full documentation.
