Description

Skyworks is offering a co-op opportunity at the Irvine Design Center, focusing on the development of advanced RF front-end modules. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, gaining valuable technical knowledge and skills while contributing to the design and optimization of multi-chip modules for the cellular handset market.

Responsibilities

• Working with experienced engineers to design/develop multi-chip modules
• Evaluating and optimizing prototypes of multi-chip modules
• Running simulations using design tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, etc.
• Participating and presenting in design reviews
• Performing lab testing using standard RF test equipment
• Troubleshooting and resolving design or technical issues
• Collaborating with other engineers and technicians

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
• Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
• Strong career interest in RF/microwave circuits and engineering
• Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience with Ansys HFSS and Keysight ADS is highly preferred
• Experience with Layout design tools
• Hands-on experience in a lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred
• Strong background in circuit theory
• Knowledge of transmission-line theory

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
